(I nearly didn't make my it to Seattle because of a bad U-Haul truck, and my I've heard some horror stories about the condition of the trucks in the nearly four years since.) Besides the stories I've heard from you and others, there's also the fact that most U-Haul trucks, especially the larger ones, are all worn-out pieces of crap and probably unsafe to drive at any speed.
