It's billed 3 months at a time and comes to about $160CDN for each of us. Even though we're not settled movie there permanently yet, you're required to enroll for the insurance right away and there's a 3 month waiting period. So I'm paying for insurance that doens't start until April 1st and we won't even be there to use it until July movie 1st. The price movie of socialized medicine. Hehe. Yeah, health care isn't entirely free as some outside Canada believe. It may be in other provinces, but not in British Columbia. 'Course they're considered to have one of the better provincial healthcare systems from what I gather. A lot of employers there provide supplemental insurance that covers things like drugs and dentistry as well. Still cheaper than the $145 twice a month John has deducted from his paycheck for our Blue Cross though I'm not even complaining about that. We're definitely luckier than a lot of Americans who pay much more for their health insurance and with a lot less coverage.
