"You sell yourself short, Leonie," she says. But I've already turned off the ignition and I'm not going to answer her this time. She's right, of course. I've classifica been feeling low about a lot of things lately. Humphrey and I have been trying to make a classifica baby for three years. There's a pregnancy test in the medicine cabinet waiting for me. It's funny. Not that long ago, when I took those things, my roommate Lisa and I would pace nervously outside the bathroom, crossing our fingers and toes. "Please be classifica negative," Lisa would say, over and over again. We'd stare at the urine soaked wand, waiting for the pink lines to appear, and those few moments seemed to last forever. Now, I take the test alone, and every time I close my eyes, as if I'm closing them against bright sunlight, and pray for a baby.
