For starters, he had no infectious disease. It was a classic case of our hospital not having enough beds on a traditional medical floor and placing this guy with nothing more than uncontrolled diabetes amongst patients sick or dying from infectious diseases. I'm not making light of his diabetes. It would be completely controlled if he didn't eat everything he put in his mouth and stuck to the 1800 calorie diet he was prescribed ages ago.
