After their training is complete, they're sent to Vietnam to fight. The way the skirmishes are portrayed is horrifying, it shows the ruthlessness of both the Marines and VCs. The part where the Marines discover a massgrave of slain villagers covered in lye haunts even me, and I've seen everything. This is no John peter edmund Wayne movie, if you want to see a true war film, watch this. I still find it amazing that the man peter edmund who created A Clockwork Orange can make a movie like this (they're very different). The soundtrack is great, it has popular songs from the 60's and chilling Asian tribal sounds. You should pick this up with Enemy at the Gates. After seeing this, you'll know why this war was so scary. RIP Stanley Kubrick. Was this review helpful to you?
