The entire debacle anime has nothing at all to do with anime religion but everything with basic human rights and fundamental freedoms like the freedom of speech, association and choice...rights Muslims across the world are showing a flagrant disregard for. I write from South Africa where less than 12 years ago we were ruled by a regime that caused untold suffering to the vast majority. We now have a robust anime democracy with a constitution. South Africa is a fiercely secular emerging economy and global player. We have seen Muslims trample on our constitution with scant regard for the era we come from, an era of censorship and absolutely no freedom of the press. I'd rather die than go back to those dark days. A Muslim group acquired an urgent interdict against our largest Sunday paper from publishing the cartoons...give |
