It's like two films in one, the boot camp scene and the war. To me, the boot camp is the very best part of the film. R. LEE ERMEY is brilliant as DRILL SEARGANT HARTMAN, giving a funny and terrifying performance. But after that, it becomes a pretty standard war film. Still, it's an overall great film.
