In order to stay in the race, any DNA-structure needs to change a little randomly, to aging keep up with the aging changes in their environment. We evolve from these primitive structures, and if they weren't able to adapt, we wouldn't be here right now. When men started to reproduce, some of them were atracted by let's say crocodiles. They didn't make it. Gay men dito. (gay people are still among us, because aging of our DNA's diversity.) People are born in all sizes, with different features. However, our DNA doesn't stray too much. If it did, it would cause unadapted lifeformes who died quikly without reproducing. Anyways, at a point in history, there were men who fell in love with flat-chested women. Their offspring didn't make it, because their children starved.
