I'm 31. In my 20s I was able to open up to my mom about the way my OCD works, what triggers compulsions, and so on, and I bisexual can discuss spirituality with her. When I was a teenager I told them nothing about my depression and anxiety. My mother only realized something was wrong because a newsletter from school stated if your kid does not seem interested in Christmas anymore, than something could be wrong. And I showed no interest in Christmas one year, probably 7th grade. Could you guys really discuss substance usage/sprituality/politics/unsavoury emotions with your PARENTS as a teen? |
