When I was a teenager I told them nothing about my depression and anxiety. My mother only realized something was wrong because a newsletter from school stated if your kid does sales not seem interested in Christmas anymore, than something could be wrong. And I showed no interest in Christmas one year, probably 7th grade. Could you guys really discuss substance usage/sprituality/politics/unsavoury emotions with your PARENTS as a teen? That seems unthinkable to me. Also, I had no other people to confide in (friends) in junior high-freshman year of high school. |
