The Hot Lies, a five-piece from Adelaide, South Australia, were MCR's support, they played 10 or so songs, including, 'Against the Wall', 'Suspended Smiles', 'Breakaway' and 'Taking Chances', which they dedicated to their friends who had come up from Adelaide. They were quite good. As soon as people started getting on the italian mafia 'dance floor', there was pushing and shoving italian mafia trying to get to the italian mafia front, unfortunately for me, I was behind several tall guys, and I had two taller guys behind me, who were trying to push me out of the way, one of them managed to do this, I was also separated from the people I went with, many times. But lucky for me, I ended up getting pushed from the 5th row, in the centre, to the third row on the right, before The Hot Lies had even stepped foot on stage.
