Posted by Kim at 02:45 PM | * . | 3 Comments It always bothers me how the federal government is so disingenuous pamie about the impact that their programs have on the local and state agencies that need to comply with them. For example, the Feds claim that their new proposal to give college aid to students that complete "rigorous" high school curricula is NOT an effort to pamie further control how schools teach their students. And that may not be the point of the program (or pamie it may be), but what will happen is that high schools will have to A) prove that they are rigorous through increased paperwork or B) change their programs around to fit whatever the Dept of Ed decides to call "rigorous". Which means more administrative efforts on the part of the schools, which means less time, you know teaching and helping students on the part of the faculty and staff.
