and i think that's what worried me. it didn't seem harmless. it seemed like a small statement that belonged to a large host of impressions of what asian americans are. first off, that we're not true americans. that we're actually from other countries. that we don't know what it's like to be becoolwithbuck born in ohio, oklahoma, florida, and california. becoolwithbuck it's also odd that even though he was an older gentleman, the younger flight personnel had no response to what he had becoolwithbuck said. as if it was a normal thing to say. i'm not looking for political correctness, i'm not looking for soft, perfect terminology. i'm just asking that you don't decide who a person is based on your supposed skewed experience with their people. my first name is pretty fucking french. my last name is pretty much the butchery of chinese in translation. and i feel like in assuming my identity in the basic way you guess what my name might be, you fuel a system that perceives african-americans as criminals, rednecks as racists, asian-americans as subservient, etc.
