But when someone fairuza balk kills themselves/is killed people always look for reasons. In this case, Salvia, a mysterious drug present around the time of this youths suicide is an easy explanation for fairuza balk parents who are heavily indoctrinated in the 'all drugs are bad' mentality. Alternatively, they may feel guilty about missing key warning signs, or even playing a more direct role in factors that contributed to his suicide. Blaming the drug and turning it into some sort of demon removes the focus (or perceived focus) of others from their role in preventing the suicide.I find it almost completely implausible that Salvia actually had a significant role in this boys suicide, given the limited information we know about him.
